The little things in life

You know what they say about being able to go abroad so that you can experience and get to know about other cultures? I bet you have heard this phrase; or something along that line that means the same, many many times...

But when someone comes over on an internship from another country, we also get to learn... about our very own culture. I really like the way it opens up your eyes when an intern comes up to you and tell you about his or her observations. Little things in our daily life that we overlook and take for granted. These things just go by everyday unnoticed.

So I was sitting in the car with Flick aka. Felicity from Australia and she tells me about her fascination with the way we take away our drinks; in a plastic bag and that it always comes in a cup or container back at her own country. How convenient it was and simple in the way we tie it up with the rafia string, jab a straw in and just drink from it.
