Interns rock Hong Kong!

stories from Hong Kong

It has officially been a month since I left home to do my internship in Hong Kong. And though I've started missing a few things back home, but I'll manage in the coming months. The internship experience has been really exciting and here are few short stories which I want to share with everyone.

My office is located in cyberport and it has a very cool sea view. Just take a look at the photo above. One could enjoy the beautiful sunset everyday. Also you could see how busy boats and ships move around. The view is a great way to escape from the challenging office work.

Working with 4 other interns through the AIESEC internship programme has made it even more enjoyable. And the best thing is that we sit next to each other and make the most noise in the office always. These new friends of mine are Nina (Germany), Jing (China) & Arne (Netherlands).

Went to the Space Museum with Arne & Landy. I queued up for about 1/2 hour for the anti-gravity ride and when it was my turn, I was not allowed to be on it. Why? Because I was 2 cm taller than the maximum height (I shouldn't have worn my thick sole sports shoes!). So here is one clear case of a disadvantage to be tall.

My 1st Korean Dinner and I have Annie (Korea) to introduce it to us. Did you know that there are 9 small dishes served at korean dinner, and that you can replenish it anytime. It has been really easy to connect with Annie though we have only knew each other for 3 weeks (she left for home already as it was the end of her internship). She went to APLDS Korea, and still remembers Chien (MCP 03/05 Malaysia) to be inspiring and later decided to do a CEED in Ghana. It's just rare to meet active members go on an AIESEC internship and when you meet one, there is this connection easliy made as if we were long lost friends and would go on sharing our very own unique @XP.

Finally, I've meet up with Hui Hui. Both Hui Hui and I knew each other in UPM and that I was the one who raised her as an SN. It was great to have met her again after about a year, and she could hardly utter any Malay words. Hmm... 12 years of Malay Langugage education sipping away soon when you dont need to use it in a foreign land for 9 months.

My 1st AIESEC related event was not with my hosting LC. weird ah?? Met up with CUHK EBs for dinner as they were hosting 4 Korean AIESECers who were on a study trip in Hong Kong. It was not hard to connect with any of them; and whatever topics we were sharing, it somehow ends up related to AIESEC.

stay tune for more stories...
